I can’t grab a pair of 98s without thinking about picking up some 97s as well! By coincidence, these really nice Nike Air Max 97 Nintendo 64 have released, based on the popular gaming system
These shoes come in a regular Nike Sportswear box but feature a number of nods to the N64. The grey leather on the mudguard has a shiny print of left and right arrow icons from a video game controller. The tongues of the left and right shoe say RESET and POWER respectively. The insole features an “Air Max Designed in 1997” graphic that mimics the rating logo found on many N64 titles. These shoes ship with sets of grey, blue, red, yellow and green rope laces.
It’s been a while since I had some 97s and overall I’m stoked it’s these! Very glad to kill 2 birds by also getting an N64 homage in the collection.
How Are The Materials?
The main materials on the shoe are mesh, leather and 3M. The leather does not seem to be particularly soft but it does seem thick, as the shoe is going for a more sturdy/sporty look rather than a luxe vibe. The mesh is that metallic looking mesh often found on Air Max 97s and the 3M is very bright! Overall I’d say the materials are fairly good for what this shoe is.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Air Max 97 fit comfortably at true size. Wide-footers may want to opt for a half size up, however.
Whatever you normally get in Nike should work for these. Overall these have about the same level of comfort as an Air Max 98 to me.
